It just came across the news that the Navy Cruiser fired a missile that
hit that incoming satellite. Kudos to our Sailors for a job well done.

Maybe a bit of skin cancer from that mess.. I heard 2 stories on
altitude.. One was 23 miles and the other 150 miles.. I tend to lean
toward 23 miles. There should be a full article in the on net "All
Hands" magazine in a day or two. Or in Stars and Stripes. I tried to get
on the Navy Website..But it is packed with net traffic. Maybe later. |

Is this the same Aegis system that splashed Egypt Air 990 in 1999 off
Nantucket ??
I'd guess the software and radar has been upgraded since then..JG |

Well, whatever it was ..It was good duck shooting. I sure hope they
don't send up any more expensive targets like that one though. |
